The legendary striker and English football superstar Michael Owen has received numerous awards for his amazing football skills. In his professional football career he has scored a total of 263 goals. This year, MICHA10WEN has teamed up with Hong Kong Tourbillon watch brand Memorigin to present its own limited edition MICHAE10WEN "Goals of a Legend Series Tourbillon".
The precious tourbillon designed by Owen shows his favourite sport, football. "Mechanical watches and football are closely related. The skills required are similar to those of a football team, which requires tacit understanding among team members to score a goal." In a watch, hundreds of sophisticated components work together to cancel out the effect of gravity and display the exact time. In keeping with his modest style, Owen has designed the watch in a dark tone. At the 9 o'clock position on the dial is a hollow football pattern formed by simple geometric lines. The red frame surrounding the rotor represents the 45-minute halftime of a football match. The index '10' is also red to match Owen's football jersey number 10, and as Owen likes to travel, he specifically added the GMT dual time zone display at the 6 o'clock position to show two different times, making his busy travels more efficient. The geometric football pattern can also be seen on the hand.
To commemorate the prestigious Ballon d'Or tribute awarded to him in 2001, he has highlighted the watch with the impressive gold-plated football ball at the 12 o'clock position.
